The short version
Kids Disease is a free, static educational website. We have no user accounts, show no ads, and never collect health information about you or your child. The only optional data activity is Google Analytics, which counts visits so we can see which pages are useful — and it runs only if you choose “Accept” on the cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and the site works exactly the same.
Cookies and local storage we use
Two small items are stored on your own device to make the site work — these are strictly necessary and never sent anywhere. Analytics cookies are set only after you accept them.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google Ireland/LLC) to understand aggregate traffic — for example, how many people visit, which pages they read, the approximate country, and the general device or browser type. This helps us improve the most-used content.
- Google Analytics 4 does not store your IP address; it is used only briefly to estimate country, then discarded.
- We have not enabled Google Signals, advertising features, or ad personalisation.
- We never upload anything you type — searches and the triage checker run entirely in your browser (see below).
- Google processes this data under its own terms. See Google's Privacy Policy, how Google uses data, and the optional browser opt-out add-on.
Your choices
Analytics is entirely your choice. You can Accept or Decline on the banner shown on your first visit. You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer — choosing Decline afterwards disables Google Analytics and clears its cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Health information & what we never do
We do not collect, store, or transmit any health information about you or your child. The symptom triage checker and the search box run entirely inside your browser — your answers and search terms are never sent to us or to anyone else, and they disappear when you leave the page. We have no user accounts, no forms that submit data to us, no advertising, and we never sell data.
Service providers & third parties
To deliver the site, your browser necessarily contacts a few providers, which receive your IP address and request details as a normal part of serving web pages (this is required for any website to load and is not used to track you):
- Cloudflare — hosting and content delivery (the site runs on Cloudflare Pages). See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Google Fonts — web fonts, and Cloudflare cdnjs — icon files.
- Product Hunt — serves the "Featured on Product Hunt" badge image shown in the footer.
- Google Analytics — only with your consent, as described above.
Legal basis & your rights
Where the GDPR / UK GDPR applies: analytics relies on your consent (which you can withdraw at any time), and the providers needed to deliver the page rely on our legitimate interest in serving a working, secure website. You have the right to access, correct, erase, or object to processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority. Because we hold no personal data ourselves, requests about analytics data are handled through Google's controls and your browser; for anything else, contact us.
International transfers
Our providers (Cloudflare, Google) operate globally and may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under their own safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Children's privacy
Kids Disease is written for parents and caregivers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Any analytics data is aggregate and not used to identify individuals.
